Maine Public seeks a News Director to lead our news team on audio, visual, and online platforms.

Position Summary:  Serves as weekday midday announcer/producer and master control operator during on-air shifts. Produces local issues programs. Files daily news reports and features. Assists and fills in for News Director.  Works under the supervision of the Program Director and the News Director. Receives some assignments from the Operations Manager. This is a full-time position. The pay is commensurate with experience, with a cap of $40,000/yr.

Responsibilities:

A new regional journalism collaboration among five leading public media outlets in Phoenix, Los Angeles and Denver is seeking an Executive Managing Editor . The Regional Journalism Collaboration, which will focus on in-depth coverage of sustainability issues, will be based at Arizona PBS in Phoenix. Partner stations include PBS SoCal and KPCC Southern California Public Radio in Los Angeles, Rocky Mountain PBS in Denver and KJZZ in Phoenix.

With seed funding from CPB, this is a partnership of six public radio stations: KUNC in northern Colorado, KUER in Utah, Boise State Public Radio in Idaho, KRCC in southern Colorado, Yellowstone Public Radio in Montana, and Wyoming Public Radio. The Managing Editor assigns, edits, and guides the editorial process for the RJC.
