PRNDI Honors Station Work At Awards Banquet

The 2018 PRNDI Conference ended on a very high note, with an awards ceremony recognizing and celebrating the work of reporting, editing, anchoring and producing at local public media radio stations across the U.S. Covering the outstanding efforts of 2017, more than 190 awards were presented for categories including Breaking News, Call-in Programs, Documentaries, Interviews, and News Features.

Call for Entries for WBUR's Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize

Entries are open now for WBUR's annual Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize.  This award goes to public radio journalists who are 35 and under.  

The deadline for submissions for the 2017 Daniel Schorr Prize is rapidly approaching!

All entries must be received at or before 5 p.m. EST on Friday, March 2, 2018. The selected Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize winner will be honored at the annual WBUR Gala on June 8, 2018.

Religion Communicators Council

The Religion Communicators Council has opened up applications for the annual Wilbur Awards.  These awards are given to journalists who report on religious issues, values and themes.  More information on these awards can be found here.

  The 2018 PRNDI Awards Contest is now open for entries  For 2018, the PRNDI Board made no changes to the awards categories or pricing.   All entries for this contest must have aired in calendar year 2017.

 

National Press Foundation Awards Deadline Nears

The awards deadline is rapidly approaching for those who want to enter into the National Press Foundation Awards competition.  Those who want to apply for the Sol Taishoff Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism have until September 29 to apply.  More information on that award can be found here.   

Public Radio News Directors Incorporated presented its annual awards at a banquet honoring the best in public radio reporting on Saturday, June 24th, 2017.  The awards are designed to honor the very best reporting in a wide variety of categories.

  Did Fat Tuesday keep you from completing your PRNDI Annual Awards entries?  Would another week help?  Well, you're in luck.  The PRNDI Board has voted to extend the deadline (with an additional extension fee added to the pricing) for the PRNDI Annual Awards competition. 

The National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) and Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI) are proud to announce that entries are open for the Excellence in Consumer Financial Reporting Award to be presented at the PRNDI Annual Conference in Miami in June of 2017.

NOTE:  THE AWARDS DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL MIDNIGHT EASTERN TIME ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 8TH.  ALL ENTRIES NOW INCUR AN ADDITIONAL $5 LATE FEE.

Public Radio News Directors Inc. and emcee Korva Coleman of NPR handed out 173 awards to 72 organizations at its conference in St. Louis over the weekend for work done at stations and other outlets during calendar year 2015.  The annual PRNDI Awards pit local public radio stations against one another in an effort to find the very best public radio reporting in a variety of categories from Arts Reporting to Spot News.  "This year's competition was fierce with over 1,200 entries submitted," according to George Bodarky, PRNDI President.
