WPR is seeking a dynamic manager to lead hosts Veronica Rueckert and Rob Ferrett and a team of talented producers on The Ideas Network’s flagship program, Central Time. The Ideas Network is unlike any other public radio service. It features more locally produced programs than any other public radio station and reaches a growing audience of more than 320,000 listeners across Wisconsin. A statewide news magazine, Central Time is heard weekday afternoons from 3:00 until 6:00. The program covers a broad range of issues and has seen steady audience growth since its launch in 2013. The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker with the ability to lead an established team, clearly outline a vision for the future and help take the show to the next level.

The Senior Producer will oversee all aspects of Central Time content creation. Coach, inspire and lead an established team of hosts and producers. Provide editorial leadership while producing compelling, audience-focused content. Lead the effort to find and cultivate diverse voices, reflecting the rich mix of culture and opinions in Wisconsin.
A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in talk radio production or directly transferable experience is required. Must have a proven track record of success managing people and the editorial process. Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills are also required.
The range for this position is $48,333-72,499. While we anticipate paying in the middle of the range, actual pay will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. UW-Extension offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous vacation, sick leave, healthcare and pension.
