This full time position is responsible for managing freelance content and national station reporters, in addition to assisting the production of WHYY's health, science and innovation program, The Pulse.
This position will identify and recruit freelance reporters regionally and nationally in order for The Pulse to provide its listeners with rich and diverse content.
The ideal applicant will posses at least two years experience producing public radio segments for broadcast, a minimum of three years managerial experience, preferably managing staff remotely; the ability to edit and mix audio using audio editing software; and strong familiarity with major social media platforms, especially Twitter, and the ability to use these platforms effectively to promote the program.
In addition to being able to work effectively with a diverse group of individuals; being able to influence others that you are not managing and well-defined interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate will also have experience writing for broadcast, can produce quality work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
