The Community Idea Stations is seeking a General Assignment Reporter for our FM station 88.9 WCVE. This is a full time position with benefits and reports to the News Director.
This position will be responsible for covering local City Council, School Board, and Board of Supervisors meetings and other topics as assigned. The default shift would primarily be afternoon to late evening but may frequently involve some daytime hours. This position may also host occasional news programs as needed.
Successful candidates will have experience in multimedia journalism with an emphasis on reporting and audio production. Candidates should be proficient in Adobe Audition and have web and social media‐based editing and production skills. Two to three years of experience as an on‐air reporter is required and public radio experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel.
