St. Louis Public Radio has an amazing opportunity for a creative, innovative, energetic editor who take the germ of a story idea and work with reporters to turn it into a radio and online gem.
This position is a supervisory one, overseeing a team of reporters and coordinating with other subject-matter and digital editors to set journalism coverage at St. Louis Public Radio. The position is ideal for someone whose interests are diverse and who is knowledgeable about issues specific to our region, but who can also make connections to the national relevance.
Although the job does not require radio experience, the ability to learn the intricacies of radio journalism -- and understand how editing for radio differs from print -- is essential. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable creating online stories that push the boundaries of traditional storytelling.
Above all, the ideal candidate should also have a record of journalistic excellence, a passion for storytelling and enthusiasm for innovation.
A Bachelor degree in journalism, science or a related field is required. The candidate must have a minimum of five years experience as a reporter and/or editor. Successful previous public radio reporting and audio digital editing experience is desirable.

- Help foster community discussion around science and environmental issues that are impacting the region.
- Have the capacity to do his or her own reporting if needed.
- Work cooperatively with other editors in the newsroom to help support the mission of St. Louis Public Radio to provide our community with news that matters.
