KERA/North Texas Public Broadcasting Seeks Statewide Coordinating Editor

Feb 10, 2016

We’re seeking a Statewide Coordinating Editor to lead the Texas Station Collaborative, an ambitious new partnership between the state’s public radio stations. KERA / North Texas Public Broadcasting (NTPB) is the hiring station for this grant-funded, two-year position.

The editor, based in Dallas, will work with reporters across the state, coordinate with the statewide newsmagazine “Texas Standard” and serve as the primary liaison between Texas public-radio journalists and national outlets.

S/he must be a proven public radio editor who’s equally comfortable on digital and social media platforms, a leader who can confidently and smoothly work at a distance with reporters, producers and editors scattered across the state, as well as leaders of national shows and networks. Project-management and communications skills are key. This editor will embrace and propagate best practices in editing, ethics and diversity.

The TSC is a new partnership between the largest public radio stations in Texas – KERA in North Texas, Houston Public Media, KUT in Austin and Texas Public Radio in San Antonio. KERA, located in Dallas, is the hiring station for this position, which is funded by a two-year Corporation for Public Broadcasting grant.
