Gulf Coast Live Seeks Host

Jul 21, 2016

Want your own talk show? WGCU Public Media is looking for a talk show host to engage with listeners, find trends and issues flying under the radar, and explore how they interconnect southwest Florida with the nation and the world.

The joint licensee in Fort Myers is expanding its weekly talk show, Gulf Coast Live, into a daily show. You should be committed to intelligent, dynamic discussion. You must be an excellent writer with superior on-air voice quality. You must have experience maintaining high journalistic standards under deadline pressure. And you should like warm weather.

Please have a Bachelor’s degree and four years of broadcast news experience. We’d love it if you’ve hosted a public radio talk or public affairs show before.

We can’t tell if you’re good unless you provide links of your recent work in your cover letter.

On the western edge of the Everglades, southwest Florida has beautiful beaches, thriving arts and 3 spring training baseball teams.
