Grants Available: Local Reporting Initiative

Penn State Public Broadcasting announces “Think Outside the Pipes,” a local reporting initiative for public radio stations.

The project addresses a critical but underreported public policy issue:  managing water with green infrastructure.

Grants of $2,000 to $5,000 per station will be awarded on a competitive basis to public radio stations for special reporting projects on local projects and issues.

“Think Outside the Pipes” is a component of Water Blues ~ Green Solutions, a PSPB public service initiative.  More information is available at www.pspb.org/public-service-media/water-blues

The centerpiece of Water Blues is a nationally distributed public television documentary that premieres in fall of 2013, but public radio reporting will extend the reach of the project.  Funding for “Think Outside the Pipes” comes from the Park Foundation.

Look for the RFP in fall of 2012.  For more information, please contact Cynthia Berger at Penn State Public Broadcasting: cberger@psu.edu
