Capital Public Radio Seeks Newsroom Editor

Capital Public Radio is looking for a seasoned newsroom editor. As the Senior Editor, you will assist the Managing Editor in coordinating cross platform stories and long range coverage planning throughout departmental divisions, including news and the Capital Public Radio Network.  You will collaborate with reporters and producers in an editorial capacity. You have a responsibility and understanding of news planning, reporting and production. The Senior Editor has primary responsibility for audio and online feature editing.

Job responsibilities include assisting in strategic planning for the department; serving as primary editor and fact checker; helping to develop story ideas; tracking issues and events for coverage; scheduling stories for air.


Minimum five years full-time professional, progressively responsible experience in news. Management experience preferred; a four-year degree or equivalent experience required.

High level newsroom management abilities; strong news judgment; advanced editing and broadcast writing skills; team player; computer literate; familiar with technology platforms and ways to utilize them effectively in reporting projects.
