At-Large Representative

Chad Lampe is the News Director and Assistant Station Manager for WKMS in Murray, KY.  He credits his father, a broadcast engineer, for his technical knowledge, and his mother for the gift of gab. At ten years old he broke all bonds of the FCC and built his own one watt pirate radio station. His childhood afternoons were spent playing music and interviewing classmates for all his friends to hear. At fourteen he began working for a local commercial radio station. He’s since earned a B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Mass Communications from Murray State University. Chad has been with WKMS since 2005. His newsroom consists of one other full-time host/reporter and six part-time/student reporters. He and his team consistently win Kentucky Associated Press Awards and have picked up National awards from PRNDI and SPJ. PRNDI membership elected Chad to the board as an at-large member during the 2014 conference in Washington D.C.
